Snipe Fly? - Chrysopilus quadratus - female

Snipe Fly? - Chrysopilus quadratus - Female
Stafford, Stafford County, Virginia, USA
September 22, 2005
Came to porch light. Flew off before I could get more views. :) Is ID to genus possible? Chrysopilus? Help appreciated.

Chrysopilus quadratus
Moved from Chrysopilus based on info and images linked to on species page.

Chrysopilus
There is little more to add to what you wrote yourself, except the species name (I do not know it) and the fact that it is a female.

looks similar to
the image of Chrysopilus quadratus shown at Insects of Quebec. That specimen is presumably a male, with a more slender abdomen.

Could be right on all counts.
The other is a male and it could definitely be the same species. :)
