looks like a Curculio genus, Nut and Acorn Weevil
Just photo'd my first the other day.

This is the first BG record of this genus in Northern California.

 
Subfamily Curculioninae might be safest for now
There might be other genus that look similar. I'd wait for a beetle expert. I don't consider myself to be one. Example, this Anthonomus genus also has similar morphology and is from CA. I may have jumped the gun a little stating genus vs. further up
