Large Horntail - Urocerus

Large Horntail - Urocerus
Puyallup, Pierce County, Washington, USA
August 29, 2009
Found dead under a small piece of wood with its abdomen missing. It was found with a slug hunter and a hacklemesh weaver, not sure if either of those caused its demise. An Urocerus californicus? (It wasn't alive, Eric :)

Urocerus sp.
is correct. Species are a little difficult to determine from pictures.

:-)
Thanks for thinking of me, Lynette:-) I'm not sure what species, but I'd lean toward U. californicus.
