UNKNOWN SPIDER FOUND ON TRAILS OF ARKANSAS - Micrathena gracilis

Size: <1/2"
These spiders are numerous on the hiking trails of northwest Arkansas. Strands of their web can extend over 8 feet with the spider located in the center. Seem to be black except for the top of the abdomen that is basically white. Tpo of abdomen is flat with spikes protruding from the sides. I tried to identify it by looking at the 10,000 pictures but my eyeballs glazed over. Can you help?

Yes, you can get a faceful of web
just walking through the woods. This is a female Micrathena gracilis.
