Syrphid Fly - Eupeodes - female

Syrphid Fly - Eupeodes - Female
Indianapolis, IN
Under light at rest stop at night.. I looked up some info on Syrphid Flies and have come up with Metasyrphus medius or something in the Genus Eupeodes.

If anyone could provide any info or a syrphid key that would be much help..

Eupeodes female
Hello Gehan,
I agree with you on the fact that this is a female of Eupeodes sp.
A key for identifying syrphids is only useful if you collect the specimens. From a picture it is in a lot of cases simply impossible to identify it to species or even to genus. There are usually not enough characters visible!
Greetings,
Gerard Pennards
