This appears to be Hippodamia
This appears to be Hippodamia moesta. Although a size is really needed for determining species. Nice find! If you have a photo editing software I would try lightening the image a little more.

agreed - matches Chapin's figures
Just got my hands on Edward Chapin's 1946 review of Hippodamia, with almost 200 illustrations of dorsal pattern variations, and only H. moesta looks like this.

The book is too fragile for me to photocopy, but my publishing company has a digital scanning technician, and I'll ask if he can scan the book without damaging it - if I can get PDFs or JPGs of the pages, I'll pass them on!

possibly H. m. bowditchi, but...
Criminy, I created a node for H. m. moesta, to counterbalance the previously-empty node for H. m. bowditchi, and thought this individual would go under H. m. moesta; by range, however, it fits H. m. bowditchi better.

I'm going to leave this under plain old H. moesta, no subspecies, because the range could be an overlap and Gordon says the subspecies can have similar markings. Without any images in any subspecies nodes there are no images at all on the Browse tab.

OOH, that would be awsome!

I'll ask on Monday!
This is the first Saturday night that I've ever thought, "I can't wait to get to work on Monday morning" :-)

My project this weekend is updating the Hippodamia Info pages, starting with the ranges. If you've been itching to have a Hippodamia page fixed or updated, post it in the "Guide Page Improvements" Forum, I'll be checking it often.
