larvae with tiny orange spots
Providence County, Rhode Island, USA

Size: 1.5-2"
Found two in the garden between tarp & soil. Some kind of lepidoptera larvae? white (or clear) with tiny orange spots down the sides. They've been released.

Scarab
I'm guessing they're Scarab beetle larvae, if you found them in the dirt. Lepidoptera don't have larvae like this, they have caterpillars instead

Strange place
to find them(?), but reminds me of Cerambycidae, but I'm no expert.

thank you
That seems right based on the other images. I've seen a couple of beetles that look like that, and they were near the stump of a tree that was taken down a few years ago.

Thanks for the help!
