Unknown Assassin Bug

Unknown Assassin Bug
Newport News, Virginia, USA
September 21, 2005
Size: Approx. 1/2"-3/4"
I'm pretty sure this is an assassin bug, but which species? Any help with ID is appreciated!

i dont know if this is an ass
i dont know if this is an assassin bug Assassin BUgs usually have very long mouths as peircers that are usually half their body length. where is its 'mouth'?

Not a reduviid.
I agree this is not an assassin bug. It is the nymph of a leaf-footed bug, family Coreidae. Actually, assassin bugs have very short, but very prominent, beaks, whereas coreids have the beak tucked deeply beneath the "chin" where it is not at all visible unless the bug is feeding.

Thanks
Thanks for your help with ID! I was leaning toward classifying it as an assassin because I was able to see the beak quite clearly (in another photograph I took of it.)
