scorpion ID ? - Hadrurus arizonensis
Yucca Valley, San Bernardino County, California, USA

Size: 5 in
This was a large scorpion that my husband stepped on and didn't know it. It was in our garage. Have a variety of scorpions here and got confused on this one.

pallidus form
Hi Liz,
Too bad he stepped on it, I know people who'd pay good money for it =)

This is a color form that used to be a subspecies, Hadrurus arizonensis pallidus, but was recently synonymized as merely a color form, usually on sand.

Thanks for the ID.
I've seen many of these since this one among other species.

Curious...
If you find another adult of these, I'd like to see good close-up photos so we can get a positive ID on those young ones we are calling Hadrurus obscurus.
