But I've often seen them successful on white flowers, where they really stand out. Point is, insects don't necessarily see things the way we do. If you get a chance, Molly, you may want to check the North American Butterfly Association website to see if you can track down an article they had on what butterflies see. I'd guess it was a year or two ago. (If I remember correctly, one difference was that they didn't see our red, but did see infra-red.)
