Megetra sp. - Megetra

Megetra sp. - Megetra
Between Laguna and Highway 6 Exit to Los Lunas, off of Interstate 40., Cibola County, New Mexico, USA
September 7, 2009
Size: 1 1/8"
Beetle found on roadside between Laguna and the Highway 6 Los Lunas exit, in Cibola County. It was two days after extensive rain in the region, in a dry, mud wash. Found roughly at noon, hot day, probably in the 80s.

Folks, it is fairly obvious that this is Megetra, but I'd like to know if it is M. cancellata, M. vitatta, or M. punctata. I will keep the specimen in a terrarium until it dies. If someone would like to have it to make the species ID, I can accomodate, but I'd like to be kept in the loop.

September 9, 2009 update: The specimen is still alive and quite active. I welcome any suggestions as to how to ID its species.

Moved
Moved from Arthropods. It will get lost in "Arthropods," but there may not be enough detail to discern a species.
