I'm thinking it's some sort of cranefly, but I'm no expert. We love the coloration!

Phantom Cranefly, I do believe. These guys are amazing to watch when they fly. Their ankles catch the wind, and they float like a kite! Crazy to see!

Thanks, Cassie! My co-worker found this and had me get the camera. Of course, it took off as soon as it saw me and the camera! So, the chase was on. For an animal with such striking coloration, it was difficult to find when it took off. If I find another one, I will keep an eye out for its flight pattern.
