Cryptophagidae? - Bystus ulkei

Size: 2mm
Here's a nice beetle(s) I collected under dead logs with fungi present. At first blush I thought Leiodidae, but under the scope it looks more like Cryptophagidae (dense erect setae, lateral carina on prothorax, 3 segmented antennal club, etc). I'm thinking Henotiderus sp. (Crosimus)? Would enjoy any thoughts on this guy. Thanks, Ken Karns-Ohio

Will do. These guys (at 2 mm) were just about at the limits of my digital camera with close up lens to get anything close to a reasonable picture. The strongly convex habitus of this beetle created some depth of field issues as well. Collected a short series of the unusual Staph Megalopinus rufipes (LeConte) under the same logs.
