Great shot!
Never heard of a "buffalo tiger," but it sounds really ominous, especially if they travel in vast herds....:-) This reminds me of Cicindela punctulata, but a dorsal view would help immensely.

Found on the CU campus...
their mascot is the buffalo. I have two other images that are not as nice but provide a bit of a dorsal view. I think your initial ID is correct.
