Long-horned beetle? - Chauliognathus pensylvanicus
Indianola, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, USA
August 22, 2009
Size: 3/4 inch to 1 inch
I started to think this might be in the genus Trirhabda but I couldn't find something quite right. Any suggestions on what it might be?

Goldenrod Soldier Beetle
Just like the ones here in the guide.

Thanks,
Makes a lot of sense because it was in a field with lots of goldenrod around. I should have been able to figure that out. Lots to learn still.

We're all still learning
There's so many different bugs that none of us will ever see them all, or even remember all the ones we've seen:-)
