I'd say it looks a lot like N. robustus, which is very common in a large chunk of Texas (but so are some others).

conehead + good reference shot
It's good that you got a picture of the front of its head. That colored area on the top front of the cone varies between species, and can be diagnostic. I don't know which one it is personally, but somebody might be able to tell you down to species.
