What kind of Sphinx Moth?

I have heard people refer to this as a "hummingbird moth" and it certainly behaved like a hummingbird. Wanted to know what species this is.

at first glance i thought nessus sphinx:
this is not however nessus, you are privelged to have met someone else.
i am not sure if this is aellopos clavipes or aellopos titan.
post some more pics!

by the way welcome to bug guide. i think it is clavipes..but i called in a big gun on this..we will see what Bill has to say, if hes got time. keep looking they usually come back to the same place alot, at the same time of day. they are my favorite the big moths, but i love em all.
