No idea what this would be. Found at edge of marshy lake. Pretty common

conocephalus fasciatus
Female slender meadow katydid. Common in all kinds of moist grassy locations on the east side of the island, but I haven't heard any records from your area before.

We have a a series of wetlands at the north end of the Alberni Valley. See these guys quite frequently in that type of terrain.
