Megachile female - Megachile newberryae - Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, San Diego County, California, USA June 25, 2000 Size: a minimum of 10 mm
This bee was sleeping on Screwbean Mesquite in Sentenac Cienega near the end of June. I suspect a Megachile, but there are lots of megachilids. Thanks in advance for any help.
