Ammophila Mimic - Systropus macer

Ammophila Mimic - Systropus macer
Elysburg, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, USA
September 12, 2009
Thought this was a Conopid but apparently, it is a bee fly in the genus of Systropus. Can anyone ID it to species?

Moved
This is S. macer, identifiable by the yellow propleuron.

Moved from Systropus.

Thanks
for the ID, Joel. And for the info.

Thanks!
Thanks for the feedback, Guys. First one I've ever seen here. Thought it was Ammophila until I got it in focus.

Nice find/photo, Jon
I'm envious. Would have thought thick-headed fly or syrphid myself. Love those legs!

Moved from ID Request.

Great find!
Fantastic image, too, of a bee fly (no, I'm not out of my mind) in the genus Systropus. Not terribly common insects.
