Numbers
There are 5 species in BugGuide's range.
Range
Salticus austinensis: TX & Mexico (1)
Salticus falcarius: AL (this is a questionable species; was only described once by Hentz 1846 and the only collection locality was Alabama)
Salticus palpalis: AZ, CA (1), & BugGuide records add NV.
Salticus peckhamae: CA, NM, TX, & UT... presumably the whole southwest then(?) (the TX locality is from a verified BugGuide record, all others from (1))
Salticus scenicus: throughout southern Canada and the entire United States, though doesn't appear to be common in the south.
