Not only picnics...
There are yellowjackets everywhere around trash cans and populated places.

Any luck finding a nest?

No luck yet finding the nests. I think one is up the street near where a Queen tried to start one in a doorway but got kicked out.

Folks must have a hard time managing a picnic where you live.

In the Fall a picnic can be be down right dangerous-if one is allergic to bees. (I'm not) Most of the stings from Yellowjackets happen at this time of the year when they go after food on the table or climb into soda cans. I find it best to keep them on their own side of the street. :]

Since I set up this "feeding station" they don't bother us or empty my hummingbird feeders.
