Furry Slug like? - Megalopyge opercularis

Furry Slug like? - Megalopyge opercularis
Durham, North Carolina, USA
September 19, 2009
Size: about 1 inch long
I 1st saw this after it rained one afternoon on my son's slide, I didnt want to hurt it so I moved it w/ a stick. Now it keeps comming back to the exact same spot. It moves really slow almost like a slug, (very furry?) It looks like it also has a tail, and alwasys surrounded by ants.
