You really should pin cicadas
You really should pin cicadas through the thorax, as that is considered the correct way. If specimens are not pinned correctly, museums will often not accept them and valuable insects can lose their value to science.

The large-headed pin does obscure the insect somewhat, a pin with a small head is better for displaying insects. But this is a great improvement over the first submitted photos.
