Mt Toby American Copper - Lycaena phlaeas - Female
Leverett, Hampshire County, Massachusetts, USA
September 13, 2009
I actually saw very few leps on the date in question: two Atlantis (?) Fritillaries, one Monarch, this critter, one Ctenucha virginica, a few other moths, and the fantastic caterpillar of Cucullia convexipennis. Diptera and hymenoptera were far more prevalent. The butterfly pictured here popped up just before I got back to the My Toby Friends Meeting to rejoin my wife and kids for lunch.
