Mantid? - Stagmomantis carolina - Male
Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio, USA
September 18, 2009
Size: not more than 2 in
Found on front door at night. Is it a mantis, if so, what kind, male or female?

Moved from ID Request.

looks like a male Carolina Mantis
to me, Stagmomantis carolina

sex
If it is a carolina mantis, the info guide notes that the "abdomen of female strongly widened in middle" and that the wings are shorter in the female, not reaching the end of the abdomen. So I would think it is a male.
