Caterpiller -
Lophocampa maculata
San Bernardino Nat'l Forest, 8,500 ft., Riverside County, California, USA
Size: 21/2-3 in.
Looks like it's a Tussock or Tiger moth caterpillar from the info?
Are these little ones harmless?
Thanks,
scott

Oops
Lophocampa, not Lophocampha. Enter "Lophocampa maculata" in the Search function and you will see adults aplenty.

I agree with the
L. maculata
ID, though I'm not an expert either. It's setae ('hairs') should be absolutely harmless.

Lophocampha maculata?
Just a guess, plz wait for a proper lepidopterist. No idea whether it has urticating spines or not.
