Another parasitic wasp in goldenrod gall - Platygaster

Another parasitic wasp in goldenrod gall - Platygaster
Prudential campus, Upper Dublin, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, USA
September 20, 2009
Size: 1-1.5 mm
When I opened this old rosette or bunch gall probably made by Rhopalomyia solidaginis I found a lot of frass and what seemed to be remnants of coccoon shells and a number of these tiny wasps, identified by Dr. Netta Dorchin as a gregarious parasitic wasp in the same genus as some pupae I found recently in a different type of gall.
