Green Lynx Spider? - Peucetia viridans - female

Green Lynx Spider? - Peucetia viridans - Female
Escondido, San Diego County, California, USA
September 19, 2005
Size: ~2 inches
I believe from looking at other shots on this site, that this is a Green Lynx Spider, but would like to know for sure. It has since created a gray egg sac which it is guarding on the rose bush, and I may be able to get a macro of the babies when they emerge (but the rose bloom will be quite dead by then ;0) Abdomen is also much thinner now.

higher resolution shots are here under "Insects & Spiders":

Looks spot on for green lynx -
compare this one - also living in a rose bush:

What a beautiful picture! I can almost smell the rose.

Great shots
I appreciated your post here because I was curious why I found this same spider on several different blooms. I too saw her eat a bee one day - very fun creature to watch!

Yes it is
a green lynx. Awfully big for just having made an eggsac?

eggsac
This pic was taken before the eggsac, so yes, currently she is much thinner.
