What in the world is a "port-
What in the world is a "port-o-let"? Although it's difficult to tell too much from your image, that certainly looks like it could be the common cobweb spider, Parasteatoda tepidariorum.

Aha, good to know. You probably know this -- these spiders have a vertically oriented abdomen, so if you look at it in profile it will most likely appear to be taller than wide.
