Microcentrum? - Microcentrum rhombifolium - female

Microcentrum? - Microcentrum rhombifolium - Female
Española, Rio Arriba County, New Mexico, USA
September 26, 2009
Size: 4-5 cm?
It was in an ailanthus tree branch that I accidentally broke off without seeing the insect, and I apparently put it into a bag that it escaped from later in a sandy area. So it doesn't belong where it was photographed, and it shouldn't have sand grains on it.

Very slow-moving and cooperative. Fortunately, I got a decent shot of the pronotum, which seems to be useful.

Enlargements available if they'd help.

Yes
Female of Microcentrum rhombifolium. Giants indeed.

Thank you.
So that's a very blunt "tooth" on the pronotum? I thought this didn't have a tooth and was one of the other species. Now that you mention it, though, I can see the waviness at that point. So I learned something.
