Size: 1.5 " legspan
Observed in cave, approximately 20 yards from the cave entrance. Both were in webs only a couple feet apart. The first two photos are of the male, last photo is of the female.

I have some out-of-date books. This spider is now considered a long-jawed orb weaver (Tetragnathidae)? Is M. menardii the same species, species name changed? I thought it was a bit too large to be an Achaearanea.

Long time bugguide surfer, new member. Thanks for the help with the identification. I collect insects and arachnids and want to take full advantage of this site for assistance with specimens I do not know down to the Genus or species level.
