Wooly Apple Aphid parasitoid - Aphelinus mali, family Aphelinidae - Aphelinus mali
Biglerville, Adams County, Pennsylvania, USA
July 1, 2008
Size: less than 2 mm
I reared these tiny wasps from wooly apple aphid colonies collected in nearby apple orchards. They emerge from the mummified remains of the aphid which turns black in color. They are also easily collected with yellow pan traps in orchards.

Excellent…
We also have this species here in the Pacific Northwest. A species page can be created in BG for this wasp. Please wait for an editor to create this for you. As a teacher of taxonomy, I hope you will also assist us in IDing here in BG, as we can certainly use all the help we can get! Thanx for this addition David.
