Ant Feast - Forelius

Ant Feast - Forelius
Chandler, Maricopa County, Arizona, USA

Forelius pruinosus (Dolichoderinae)
These small desert ants are ubiquitous and universal scavengers. They owe their power to an extremely efficient recruiting system, and the presence of special poison glands. They have no sting and own a very soft cuticle, yet both Harvester ants and Honypot ants fear them.
