Size: 22 mm body length
Eventually it started laying eggs on me while I was taking photos, which I didn't think much of at the time. But then when I was reading on bot flies on here, I read that they are endoparasites of mammals - does that include humans? I washed off all the eggs I could find, but now I'm a bit worried I unwittingly touched my hair or clothes or something while I was taking photos and have bot fly eggs on me that are going to hatch and burrow into my living flesh...

It's not my hand I'm concerned about - I think I might wake up one morning with a giant lump in my scalp! I've put my mind to rest a bit after reading that only one species of bot fly that preys on humans, and it's small...
