Fungus Nitidulid, Omosita colon? - Omosita nearctica

Fungus Nitidulid, Omosita colon? - Omosita nearctica
Hollis, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA
October 1, 2005
Size: about 3 - 4 mm
Collected from woodland fungi along with several species of ro*ve beetles, tiny ptili*ids, a Notio*philus, and an abundance of springtails. I've seen this or a similarly-marked nitidulid on carrion.

Thanks, Boris.
I noted your comment on the info page for this species. Would you care to elaborate on who said what and when (I know you said recently)regarding the new classification?

Thanks, Jim
to call to my attention not making any changes in nomenclature without explanation, at least if not well known . . .

info page updated ;-)

- and is a usual beetle on cadavers, that´s right!

cheers, Boris

Thanks, Boris.
Our nitidulid specialist is Andrew Cline, so I've named it flagged with a question mark till he says what he thinks.

Same as carrion nitidulid
This certainly looks like the same species I posted recently that I collected from a long-dead squirrel carcass:
