Hover Fly genus or species? - Eupeodes

This one looked like it might have been preying on something on Common Milkweed leaves. It was continuously moving and probing the surface of a leaf.

My guess
would be something in Eupeodes. You can look for a match there until you get an expert opinion.

Not an expert, but it's Eupeodes
Note margined abdomen.
