D. elongata?
Why isn't this D. elongata? The fore and mid tibiae are pale, whereas fasciventris is supposed to have fuscus tibiae.

I don't remember
I don't remember. I was using the revision by Webb (1978).

Wing venation
The key in the revision uses the 5 posterior cells (fasciventris) vs. 4 posterior cells (elongata). I think there are only 4 here, but through identifying, I've found that the color of the fore tibia (mentioned in the descriptions, but not the key) is also a key feature.

Move
If you're confident in the ID, move it. I don't remember what led me to place it here.

Okay!
Okay!

Just wanted to know if you had a different reason.

Yellow Soldier Fly maybe ?
Ptecticus trivittatus, or something related. It's an idea. I'm certainly no expert, and think I'm seeing some differences. Hopefully a start in the right general direction at least.

I thought the same at first s
I thought the same at first sight but then I realized that it is a bit off... they look very similar, but the head shape, the striped abdomen, the leg coloration etc gave it away...
