Size: 1 3/4 inches to 2 inches
The antenna look broke are they. I have another shot of one with antennas that are longer and not snapped in the middle are they related. The other one has almost the same colors and marking, maybe more brownish than blackish

Northern paper wasp
Another northern paper wasp. They are quite variable in color and pattern from one individual to the next. This one is probably a female, and the deformed abdomen indicates she has a stylopid ("twisted-wing parasite") lodged there. See "Strepsiptera" or "Stylopidae" for more information on those.
