Blister Beetle? - Lytta stygica

Blister Beetle? - Lytta stygica
Penticton, British Columbia, Canada
June 13, 2002
some kind of metallic beetle -- perhaps a blister beetle?

Moved
Moved from Lytta.

Blister Beetle
is my guess also. It has the look: beaded antennae, wide, rounded head on a small neck, abdomenal segments hanging out beyond the wingcovers.

I agree.
Superb image of a blister beetle in the genus Lytta. Not many species in BC, so should be able to ID it to species eventually. Interesting mirid plant bugs on the flowers, too:-) If you know the plant, you could probably get in the ballpark on the mirids.

Lytta stygica, i believe
*

I'm interested
in the little characters hanging around with this beetle...

I wondered.......
.........about them too but not very clear for ID

we're confused
by the location. Did you photograph this in British Coumbia or in Maryland?

BC not MD
oops, it was photographed in BC. The MD reference is my location. Sorry.
