congrats i know
you was looking!

Beautiful spider!
Where was it located? I've found quite a few this year. Every one of them built its web in low vegetation (wild rose, raspberry, etc), within about 18 inches of the ground.

By contrast, I also found A. marmoreus in that low vegetation, but some individuals of that species also built their webs in poplar and willow trees as high as 7 feet off the ground. Near ground level, though, A. trifolium and A. marmoreus often build very close together; that is, they do around my place. It wasn't unusual for me to find them, in their respective webs, less than a foot from each other on the same bush or plant.

Low to the ground
You are right. It was about 2.5 feet on a low growing bush.
