Size: 25+mm
Looking through the Guide I could find examples that were black with red segment bands or with red and black hair bands. As can be seen this one carries both, which is the source of my confusion. Are they known to come in this form? Taken early evening with rain threatening. Voracious eater when it stopped moving long enough.

Well, that explains the voracious eating.:-)I now have all three instars running around my yard at the same time. Fascinating! I have had an explosion of different kinds of cats this past week and am going daffy trying to ID and keep up with them. What fun! Thanks, guys!
