Caterpillar - Haploa

Caterpillar - Haploa
Gainesville, Florida, USA
April 13, 2004
About 1", found on deck so host plant unknown, shown on native azalea from which it took a bite but no more

Possibly Haploa
A lepidopterist at UF narrows this down to genus Haploa, family Artiidae. Likely host plant is black cherry and/or oak based on the UF guy's observations and the fact that those are the trees I have in my yard.
