Mt Tamalpais, Marin County, California, USA
October 12, 2009
Size: 1.5"
Was in middle of trail, so don't know host plant. Doesn't show in photo but there were those two long tufts both front and back, not two and one like some of the tussock moths.

This makes us think of Panthea
Is there a Panthea in California?
