mating tarantulas - male - female

mating tarantulas - Male Female
San Pedro House, east of Sierra Vista, Cochise County, Arizona, USA
October 10, 2009
Mating occured next to the females burrow. The male pushed the female and her fangs up with his front pair of legs until the plane of the females body was almost vertical. When mating was complete the male left quickly. The female remined on the ground for about 30 seconds and then retreated to her burrow.
