The length stated does not include the ovipositor. This individual was in a patch of SE-US native Arundinaria bamboo, but I've encountered them on various other plants, and even found an aggregation of several males in a crumbling old stone chimney in the woods.

This critter's feet look well formed for holding on to smooth leaf surfaces.
