Chris...
Dave and I have discussed this specimen, and he thinks that it could possibly be something other than exquisita. That species is the only Nectopsyche species that I have seen listed for your province, but there's not a great deal of information about caddisflies (and other aquatic insects) in your part of the world.

If you have an opportunity to collect some examples of this critter for Dave to examine, he (and I) would really appreciate it. Who knows, it might just turn out to be an undescribed species. Given Dave's uncertainty about this specimen, it would be best to move this back to genus.

This image was taken over a y
This image was taken over a year ago, so I have only this one image to show. I'm not greatly interested in caddisflies - I tend to ignore the small brown ones - but this one was distinctive enough to interest me. No specimen was taken, and this is my only image of the individual. The colour is probably fairly accurate. I'll ask around CFS here and will show it to our resident bugman. Stay tuned. Thanks for your interest.

did you keep this?
If you kept this I would sure like to look at it. From what I can see the abdomen looks swollen so likely a female but this is a color pattern I have not seen anywhere. Are the photo colors accurate? Thanks Dave

Moved from ID Request.

Leptoceridae
Looks like Nectopsyche exquisita. The wing bands are a bit darker than most I've seen. Very nice specimen.
