Attracted to light. Two other similar species are C. basipuncta and C. antipoda. The former is not found in Western Canada, having a more southerly distribution. A complete lack of AM and PM lines distinguishes C. mcdunnoughi from both species. Genitalia dissection is still the best way to confirm an ID. Larva is undescribed. Information taken from Nearctica.
