Bug with white cross stripe

Bug with white cross stripe
Española, Rio Arriba County, New Mexico, USA
October 18, 2009
Size: About 1.2 cm body length
Sorry about the shadows.

When I got too close, it buzzed past my ear and flew around for a while before landing high on a wall. Later it showed up on my screen door.

Not an expert but...
...I would go with a Leaffooted Bug in the genus of Narnia.

Sure looks right—in particular, like images of N. snowi. (Too bad I can't find pictures of most of the other species for comparison.) Also, there's plenty of prickly pear and cholla here for it to eat.
