Day 28

Day 28
Alameda County, California, USA
Size: ~7/8 in. (2.2 cm)
October 20. One of the specimens on buddleia made a nest between two blackberry leaves by attaching them at a few points with a little webbing. (I add loose blackberry leaves to the buddleia containers, and vice versa, so the caterpillars can vary their diet if they want to.) This specimen has grown fast. It must be close to an inch long if straightened out.
